Zephania Kipsang Yego
Mr. Zephania Yego was admitted to the Roll of Advocates on 15th December 2005.He has a vast experience in litigation of commercial law and insurance matters having been an advocate in the firm of Kibichiy & Co. Advocates, Eldoret between December 2005 and December 2008.
Throughout this period, Mr. Yego forged a close working relationship with several corporate clients who include the Heritage Insurance Co. Limited, UAP Insurance Co. Limited, Insurance Company of East Africa (ICEA) Limited, Lion of Kenya Insurance Co. Limited, Kenindia Assurance Co. Limited, Concord Insurance Co. Limited, Standard Assurance Co. Limited, Kenya Commercial Bank, Trust Bank, Kenya Tea Development Authority, etc.
During his three year stint at the law firm of Kibichiy & Co. Advocates, he appeared before the High Court and the Court of Appeal on several occasions and obtained favourable judgments and rulings.
Mr. Yego graduated from Moi University law school in 2003 with Upper Honours, 2nd Class. At the university he actively participated in moot court contests including representing Moi University in the 2nd African Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law in Arusha in November 2002.
He has basic knowledge of French. He is also a trained mediator and has facilitated numerous mediation proceedings on pro-bono basis to the National Legal Aid and Awareness Programme. Mr. Yego is a pro-bono lawyer for the Refugee Consortium of Kenya, UNHCR and the Ministry of Justice. In 2008, he was nominated for the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Programme and the International Lawyers for Africa Programme.
He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), East African Law Society (EALS) and the Commonwealth Law Association (CLA).
